NARRATOR: It was a beautiful morning in Word World, and Pig had just baked something very special.
PIG: A giant cake.
(giggles) That's the biggest cake I've ever seen, Pig.
Quack, quack.
Let's eat.
Eh-eh-eh-eh, not so fast, Duck.
The cake still needs frosting.
(chuckles) FROG: And I've got just the thing to do the job.
It's my latest invention-- a gigantic, super-duper frosting machine.
Oh, boy, oh, boy.
How does it work, Frog, huh, huh, huh?
Well, all I have to do is push this button, and your cake will be frosted in no time.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, can I push the button, please?
Can I, can I, can I, can I?
Not yet, Duck.
I need to tie the machine down with some string so that it won't move around when it starts.
(humming) Let's see here.
(mumbles) String, string, hmm.
Here are the letters I-N-G. That's a good start.
A good start?
For what?
To build the word "string."
String will keep the machine from moving around.
♪ I-N-G make the sound of "ing" ♪ ♪ Add a sound to the beginning ♪ ♪ And you can build anything ♪ ♪ A wing, a spring, or the thing that we need ♪ ♪ Some string.
♪ I have the "ing" sound-- I-N-G.
I just need to get the letters that make the "struh" sound in "string."
I'll be right back, and then we'll cover the cake with yummy frosting.
But remember, no matter what, do not push this button.
It turns the machine on.
No problem, Frog, you got it.

(giggles) I'll be right back.
(whistling tune) (humming tune) Hmm.
I sure am hungry.

(gasps) (rumbling) Oh, no.
I pushed the button.
I've turned on the machine.
(gasps) It's rumbling.
It's shaking.
It's frosting!
It's frosting everything but the cake.
Moo?!
The frosting machine won't stay still.
I'm going to try to stop it.
Oh!
What was the thing Frog said we needed to make the machine stay still?
I can't remember, but it has the "ing" sound in it.
How did Frog's song go again?
Let's see.
♪ I-N-G make the sound of "ing" ♪ ♪ Add a sound to the beginning ♪ ♪ And you can build anything... ♪ Oh, I know... Quack.
♪ A wing.
♪ Yeah, maybe a wing is the "ing" thing we need to make the machine stay still.
We have the I-N-G. That's the "ing" sound.
Now we just need a letter "W" for the "wuh" sound.
To make a w-ing...
KIDS: Wing!
Maybe this wing will help keep the machine from moving around.
Here goes nothing.
Whoa!
(squealing) Pig!
That wing isn't making the machine stay still.
It's making it fly.
Help!
I'm coming, Pig.
(grunting) Oh!
(yelling) (Pig squealing) NARRATOR: Now that the frosting machine had a wing...
DUCK: Hang on!
NARRATOR: ...it was even harder to keep still.
PIG: Careful.
DUCK: Oh, no!
Now it's frosting the clouds!
Mmm.
(slurping) Well, at least we won't be hungry.
(laughing) (screaming) Duck, do something.
(yelling) Quack.
BOTH: Whoa!
Oh, the wing didn't work.
We need something to keep this machine from moving around.
What "ing" thing do we need to make the frosting machine stay still?
How did Frog's song go again?
Oh, yeah.
♪ I-N-G make the sound of "ing" ♪ ♪ Add a sound to the beginning ♪ ♪ And you can build anything.
♪ Hmm, I know-- a spring.
Oh, yeah.
Maybe a spring is the "ing" thing we need to make the machine stay still.
Okay, here's the "ing."
Yeah, that's the letters I-N-G.
They make the "ing" sound.
And now we need the letters for the "spr" part.
Spr-ing.
KIDS: Spring!
Maybe this spring will keep the machine still.
Here goes nothing.
Whoa!
PIG: That spring isn't making the machine stay still.
DUCK: It's making it bounce.
PIG: Help!
DUCK: I'm coming, Pig.
(grunts) NARRATOR: Pig and Duck bounced all around Word World on top of the frosting machine.
PIG: Not sweet, not sweet.
NARRATOR: They passed Sheep, who was driving her car.
(humming tune) (splat) (brakes squealing) PIG & DUCK: Oh, sorry, Sheep.
Mmm, yummy.
NARRATOR: They passed Bear, who was painting a picture.
(humming tune) Hmm, this painting needs a little more... (splat) Pink!
DUCK & PIG: Sorry, Bear.
That's okay.
It's perfect.
(slurping) And tasty.
NARRATOR: Until finally they bounced all the way back to Pig's barn.
(humming tune) Hey, guys, I'm back.
Pig?
Duck?
I've got the letters for string.
That will keep the machine still so we can frost the cake.
Where are you guys?
(splat) Ribbit.
Oh, no.
You turned on the machine!
PIG: Oh, we didn't mean to.
PIG & DUCK: It was an accident.
PIG: Frog, what's the "ing" thing we need to make the frosting machine stay still?
String.
PIG: Wing?
DUCK: We tried that.
String!
PIG: Spring?
DUCK: We tried that, too.
No.
String!
BOTH: Swing?
I have to save Pig and Duck.
I need to build some string to make the frosting machine stay still.

PIG: Oh, hurry, Frog, hurry!

(whooping, laughter and cheering) We're saved.
It wasn't a wing.
And it wasn't a spring.
It was a string.
Quack, quack.
String was the "ing" thing we needed to make the frosting machine stay still.
Right.
And now that the machine is still, We can frost that cake.
Quick, it's about to frost.
Mmm-mm.
Oh!
Now we can eat cake.
NARRATOR: So the WordFriends ate some of Pig's giant cake with frosting.
All except for Pig that is.
Yeah.
I've had enough frosting for one day.
Huh?
Huh?
Well, maybe I'll have just a little bit.

Yeah, so you can carry your jelly to the picnic.

I was just about to start my letter "J" machine.
Ooh, why do you call it a "J" machine?
Because it puts my jelly inside the jugs.
Oh, I get it.
Jelly and jugs both start with the letter "J."
(chuckles) That's right.
Ah, I love the letter "J."
♪ Hip-hip-hooray for the letter "J" ♪ ♪ It makes the "ja" sound that I like to say ♪ ♪ It's the sound in "jump" and "joke" and "jiggle" ♪ ♪ Jiggle's a word that makes me giggle ♪ ♪ Hip-hip-hooray for the letter "J" ♪ ♪ It makes the "ja" sound that I like to say ♪ ♪ It's the sound in "jet" and "jacket" and "jelly" ♪ ♪ And jelly's a word I like in my belly ♪ ♪ Hip-hip-hooray for the letter "J" ♪ ♪ We'll build "jug" and "jelly" for the picnic today ♪ ♪ "J"!
♪ (both laughing) So how does your "J" machine work?
I'll show you.
I just pull this lever to start the machine.
First, the letter "J" comes out of here.
Look, the letter "J."
It makes the "ja" sound.
And then you add the letters U-G for the "ug" sound.
J-ug-- KIDS: Jug!
Then in goes the jelly.
And then the cork.
One jug of jelly ready for the picnic.
That seems easy enough.
So, do you think you can make the jugs for me?
I have to go and borrow a cart from Frog to bring the jugs to the picnic.
You can count on us, Pig.
We'll make the best jelly jugs you've ever seen.

(chuckles) Ja... Sheep, where's the next "ug"?

Quick, we've got to turn off the "J" machine.
(grunting) Oh, no, the lever's stuck.
I can't turn it off.
And now the "J" machine is moving a lot faster.
Oh, no, so many jelly "Js."
What are we going to do?
Yikes, we have to find something to hold the jelly.
How about our hats?
Whoa.
Ew.
(yelling) That didn't work.
Um, well, I can try to use my belly.
NARRATOR: Poor Bear and Sheep.
They wanted to make jelly jugs, but all they were making was a mess.
Oh, no, look.
It just keeps coming.
J-J-Jelly.
We need something to hold all this jelly.
But what?
Well, if we can't make jugs, what other word can we build with the letter "J" that can hold jelly?
How about uh... j-j-jet?
Quick, let's try it.
J-E-T. J-et.
KIDS: Jet!
Well, jet begins with the letter "J."
But it can't hold any jelly.
What are we going to do?
Somebody save us from all this jelly!
Help!
Help!
NARRATOR: Bear and Sheep were in luck.
Ant heard them and quickly appeared.
Who needs help?
(gasps) Oh, Ant, thank goodness you're here.
We're helping Pig put his jelly into jugs, but we ran out of "ugs."
And without an "ugs," the jelly is just going everywhere.
We need to build a word with the letter "J" to put all this jelly away.
Don't you worry.
I have an idea.
All we have to do is build... a j-j-j... (muffled) Oh, I think I know.
J-J-Jacket.
Let's try it.
J-A-C-K-E-T. J-J-Jacket.
KIDS: Jacket!
(muffled yell) Um, well, you're right.
Jacket starts with the letter "J."
But it won't work.
What we need... is a j-j... (sputtering) What was Ant trying to say?
Oh, I know, I know.
It's my favorite "J" word.
A jewel.
A jewel?
Um, okay, let's try it.
J-E-W-E-L. J-J-Jewel.
KIDS: Jewel!
(muffled yell) I did not mean jewel, Sheep.
There's only one "J" word that will save us from all this jelly.
A j-j-jar.
(gasps) A jar!
Of course.
Yes, a jar can hold lots of jelly.
Great idea, Ant.
Well, what are we waiting for?
The "J" machine isn't stopping.
It's time to... ALL: Build a word!

KIDS: Jar!

♪ Awesome, it worked.
Let's make more jars for more jelly.
NARRATOR: So Bear and Sheep made lots and lots of jars to hold Pig's jelly.
