But, yeah, I just started off, like, writing and recording mostly songs that Jake, our guitarist, and myself did, and then we brought in Gabe and we brought in- [Jake] Andy.

Andy, you know?

Yeah, it was pretty much like a bedroom project, and it turned into a live band sort of on accident.

We write each other things a lot, yeah.

So that's I would say a big, you know, point of conceiving the project was like Rae kind of writing lines, and then I would respond to it and it would trigger whole songs.

I feel like we have two different schools of thought with it as well.

You know what I mean?

I feel like Jake plays things, and, like, just has words come out, and I'm very like, oh, I'm writing a little spell.

You know what I mean?

I have to know where I'm coming from, and I'm like, it came from a dream and I had this song.

Like, all of these things that mean things, and then I'll end up letting that go a little.

So I feel like, between the two of us, we usually have a really good yin-yang thing going on.

You know what I mean?

-Yeah.

-I make too much meaning and you're like, oh, let's go, you know?

Yeah, I mean, I tend to like things that are a little more open to interpretation, but I get that with your stuff too.

Like, I don't- Yeah, no, that's what I'm saying.

I feel like we meet in the middle with it.

I don't think it's that literal.

Like, it's all about kind of like taking a long time to arrange and pick through this performance and then go in and just lay it down, and that, I think, is the reason "Spit" has kind of done so well is I think people can kind of feel that immediacy.

It's not a multi-tracked, kind of slower, -textural record.

Like, we spent probably, you know, a year or two writing that record from inception or like acoustic demos, and we recorded it in like two days, you know?

So it just has that kind of like impact, I think.
