Avi Gitler, a gallery owner in upper Manhattan, and Mark Jannot, from the National Audubon Society, teamed up and launched The Audubon Mural Project. Its mission is to create, with the help of local artists, beautiful murals of climate-threatened birds throughout John James Audubon's old stomping grounds: Hamilton and Washington Heights.
