Our golden vessel is 97 years of age.
97 years young.
But she says that she's only 39.
Now, mother Dusset Cook, you're gonna have to learn how to count a little bit better, but that's okay.
You're just 40.
I'm gonna give you one more year.

You're 39 years of age.
She lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
She's a member of Grant Chapel AME Church and that's all her life she's been there.
She attends the senior citizen's center every Monday.
And for over 50 years she has lived in the Norwood Community.
She has one daughter, one son, some grandchildren, and guess what?
They call her, as a matter of fact everybody calls her, Momma Cook.
So we salute you tonight, precious.
You're an awesome, awesome woman of God.
I saw you a few weeks ago and you were dancing in the spirit.
So you know you're special.

- How long y'all been married?
- This past September made one year.
- One year.
So how long have you guys been knowing each other?
- Actually, about five years.
- Five years.
- Yeah.
- We met in Alabama, singing in Cullman, Alabama.
- Mm-hm.
- I do a radio program for New Journey Radio.
It's all over the YouTube and an app and things like that.
I was playing her music on the air.
And so when I found out she was gonna be in Cullman I made sure that I got to meet her when I got there.
See what I'm saying?
- You came with a purpose in mind.
And it worked didn't it?
- Yeah, it worked.
- Give it up, give it up, give it up.
You give it up too.
Ha, ha, it worked.
- I am blessed.
- You know, Sister Bonita, I've been asking Dennis to get in touch with you.
And we tried and tried and you had some challenges.
- Yes.
- And you are one of my favorite singers.

Because the first time you came, I felt the innocence.

I actually live in Conway, South Carolina.
Bonita lives in Fort Payne, Alabama part time.
